LPGA: Brits seek Solheim form

LPGA: Brits seek Solheim form

Laura Davies

Davies has come close to victory a few times in the past over a layout which always throws up a lot of low scores, and she is the joint-holder of the course record of 10 under 62.

"You always want to play well the week before the Solheim," said Davies, who will be one of the main players in Europe's bid to win on US soil for a first time at Crooked Stick in Indiana.

"I feel my game is in good shape and I'm putting well, which is the key."

Stupples' summer run in Europe was hampered by an ear infection, but she was relieved to be handed one of Captain Catrin Nilsmark's five wild cards and reckons her game is ready to strike top form at just the right time.

She said: "Now I'm fully fit I feel so much better and think I can have a really good end of season.

"To be picked by Catrin was great and now I'm just lapping up the whole experience."

Suzann Pettersen and Maria Hjorth are the other two European Solheim players in the field, while Cristie Kerr - the leading American and a winner in Ohio last week - is the defending champion.
