Gustafson retains lead
Gustafson - one shot clear
Gustafson held a one-stroke lead over Lorena Ochoa, Maria Hjorth and Shanshan Feng.
Gustafson followed her first round 65 with a 69 which included three missed eagle putts as she struggled on the greens.
When asked how she thought her putting was today, she replied: "Bad. It was pretty much the same as it was yesterday but I'm playing good so that obviously helps a lot. The irons and driving, but the putting is not good."
Ochoa was happy with her round, and is primed for a charge on the weekend.
"I thought I had a really good day. It was a really good start. I made two mistakes, especially on the par-5s, I didn't make birdie. It was on the third hole and on the fifth hole, so I didn't like the way I played it. But, like I said, I can't complain about a 5-under-par, so I just hope I can be in a good position for the weekend. So, I am excited for tomorrow," she said.
Maria Hjorth knows it will take more of the same to stay in contention.
"I really have to just keep playing really well. I have to take advantage of all the par-5s, especially out here because most of them are reachable. So, you know, I just have to try my best to make as many birdies as I can, and then hopefully I can get another low score. I have been playing nicely, so hopefully I can keep that going for two more days."
