Super Stricker lands 16/1 payout
Stricker - racked up more profits for Golf365.
Stricker set the tone on Thursday when he opened eagle-birdie and, despite trailing by a shot at halfway due to Dustin Johnson's hole-in-one, the US Ryder Cup star roared into a six-shot lead after round three.
And although Luke Donald made a run at him in the final round, Stricker held firm to secure a two-shot win and trigger a 16/1 payout.
Our tipster Dave Tindall had said this pre-tournament:
"Stricker had struggled in this event until recently but he turned that around with an 11th in 2008 before finishing runner-up to Phil Mickelson last year when leading going into the final couple of holes.
"One interesting little pattern in Stricker's form is how well he does after two weeks off - the position he finds himself in again here.
"Stricker won at Colonial last year after a fortnight's break and repeated the trick when winning the John Deere Classic after another nice rest.
"The man from Wisconsin has kicked off his campaign with a 10th and a third in the two Hawaii events and after closing with a 65 at the Sony he said: "I can go home the next couple of weeks with a lot of confidence."
"The two-week break theory played out again in this event last year when he finished second so, refreshed after another 14-day gap, Stricker should be in perfect shape to try and post a fourth win in just 14 starts.
"For a world number three with so many recent wins and a near-miss at the course last year, 12/1 might be a truer reflection of his chances.
"We can get 16/1 so dive in."
It was so nearly a memorable double victory for Golf365 followers as Lee Westwood came up just short in Dubai.
Westwood had been tipped by Dave John at 12/1 but was edged out in a play-off by Miguel Angel Jimenez.
However, combined profits for the US and European Tours show a very healthy +68.75pts so make sure you follow our tipsters throughout the season.
